Our Story

Born out of frustration with online fraud

Every day, millions of people lose money to scams they could have avoided. Fake online stores, phishing emails, crypto wallet drainers, impersonation scams — the tactics evolve faster than most people can keep up.

We built Scamora because existing tools weren't good enough. They were slow, required technical knowledge, or gave you generic results with no community context. We wanted something anyone could use — in under 10 seconds — to get a real answer.

So we combined live security API data with real human reviews and a transparent trust score formula. The result is a platform that gets smarter every time someone shares their experience.

How It Works

A 3-layer trust system

Every result you see is the combination of three independent data sources, combined into one transparent score.

1

Live Security API Scan

The moment you submit a check, we query Google Safe Browsing, VirusTotal, Have I Been Pwned, and WHOIS data in real-time. This catches known malware, phishing domains, breached accounts, and brand-new threats.

Community Reviews & Reports

Real users share their experiences — good and bad. Every review is written by a verified human. Scam reports are weighted more heavily in the trust formula. The community catches what automated tools miss: new scams, impersonation sites, and shady behaviour that isn't technically malware.

Transparent Trust Score

We don't hide our formula. The trust score is calculated as a weighted combination of API results, community review sentiment, scam report count, and verification data. You can see exactly why a score is what it is — no black boxes.

What We Stand For

Our values

Radical transparency

Our scoring formula is public. Our data sources are named. We'll never hide how we reach a result.

Community first

The best scam detection comes from people who've been there. We amplify human experience, not just automated signals.

Privacy by default

We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. Checks you make are never shared without your consent.

Speed matters

Scams don't wait. Results in milliseconds means you can check before you click — not after you've already lost money.

Globally accessible

Scams target everyone, everywhere. Scamora is free, works across all languages, and covers websites, emails, phones, and crypto.

Always free

We will never put the safety check behind a paywall. Protecting yourself from scams should never cost money.

Editorial Standards

How we write and review content

Scamora is a YMYL (Your Money, Your Life) platform. Every piece of content we publish could directly affect someone's financial safety. That's a responsibility we take seriously.

Our editorial team researches every topic using verified, primary sources — official law enforcement reports, cybersecurity research, and documented scam cases. We do not publish speculation or hearsay.

All blog posts are reviewed before publication for accuracy, relevance, and actionability. We update articles when the threat landscape changes. If you spot an error, you can contact us and we'll correct it with a transparent edit note.

Fact-checked before publishing
Every claim is verified against primary sources before going live.
Kept up to date
Articles about active scams are reviewed and updated as threats evolve.
No sponsored rankings
No company can pay to improve their trust score or appear safer than they are.
Corrections policy
Errors are corrected transparently with a visible edit note and timestamp.
